About The Position
VitalCore Health Strategies is hiring a Registered Nurse at Summit County Jail in Akron, Ohio. The RN delivers quality care within the scope of practice established by the applicable state nurse practice act and regulations. The role includes delegating and supervising nursing activities performed by competent personnel within their scope of practice. The RN is accountable for the quality of care delivered, helps maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, advocates for patients, and promotes nursing best practices.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
- Active CPR certification.
- Maintain knowledge of state laws and regulations governing practice.
- Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies as assigned by role.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for reactions and side effects.
- Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Modify patient treatment plans based on patients’ responses and conditions.
- Monitor patient care, including diet and physical activity.
- Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel, or supervise a unit.
- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
- Educate individuals, families, or groups on health education, disease prevention, and childbirth, and develop health improvement programs.
- Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies, and maintain supply stock.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient conditions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the facility.
