About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Mercy Hospital - Edmond I-35 works a part-time schedule of 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., 24 hours per week. The role uses the nursing process to provide patient care and maintains professional accountability for care provided to assigned patients. The nurse evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinates patient care with other departments. The role also protects patient rights and the confidentiality of patient information and performs duties in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

Requirements

• Graduate from a school of nursing; an associate degree, diploma, or BSN is accepted.
• Maintain a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure for the state where nursing duties are performed, and meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Hold Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association, or successfully complete the course within 30 days of hire.
• One or more additional certifications may be required based on the position or unit, or may need to be acquired within the department’s required timeframe.
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
