About The Position

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. This is an experienced-nurse role in the Emergency Care Center at the Sarasota Campus; new graduates are not being considered. The schedule is full-time, 36 hours per week, with mids or night shifts available.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program.
• For new hires after 2012, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required within the timeframe specified by the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
• Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
• Hold an active Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Hold Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Hold Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification.
• Complete Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke, and PSA/ACE during department orientation, or complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Crisis Intervention.
• Complete Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) within one year of completing department orientation.
• Maintain all certifications thereafter.
• Experienced nurses only; new graduates are not considered.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of emergency RN experience.
• Certification in a nursing specialty area.
