Registered Nurse- Birthing Center Fulltime Nights

About The Position

Responsible for providing professional nursing care for SIH patients in the Birthing Center. This is a full-time night position. The nurse assesses patients’ mental, physical, and spiritual needs; develops and delivers individualized care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team; and provides support and education to patients and families. The role also includes documenting care, promoting patient safety and quality, advocating for patients, and supervising or delegating to licensed practical nurses and/or unlicensed assistant personnel. Compensation is commensurate with experience, ranging from $31.25 to $49.06. Benefits information is available through the SIH Benefits Guide/Plan Information link.

Requirements

Associate, diploma, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in Nursing.
Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
Establish a compassionate environment and provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
Provide health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain patients’ optimum health levels.
Use clinical judgment and critical thinking to recognize, act upon, and report changes in patient condition.
Complete accurate and timely documentation in the patient medical record.
Provide input into the development of policies and procedures that support patient safety and quality of care.
Supervise and delegate responsibilities to licensed practical nurses and/or unlicensed assistant personnel.
Advocate for patients by communicating and collaborating with other health service professionals.
Complete required education, competencies, and licensure on time.
