About The Position

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocates for patients to support an exceptional patient experience. The role includes caring for cardiac and medical-surgical patients in a progressive care setting at Del Sol Medical Center, a 300+ bed acute-care hospital in El Paso, Texas.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) qualification.
• Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or registered nurse diploma.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients on admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting changes in their condition.
• Perform procedures and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Document care in patients’ medical records accurately, thoroughly, and promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients’ responses.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used to care for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
• Collaborate with medical providers to deliver pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Advocate for patients and support a high-quality patient experience.
