RN - Trauma Stepdown - La Jolla
About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in the 21-bed Stepdown Unit, also known as Trauma Stepdown, at Scripps Memorial La Jolla. The role provides direct patient care, including assessing patients, planning and implementing care, and evaluating progress toward expected outcomes. The RN has primary responsibility for patients’ care and works with a team focused on restoring function, optimizing care, and respecting each patient’s autonomy and individuality. The unit provides acute hospital care through a comprehensive range of specialties and emphasizes patient-centered care, professional development, teamwork, and keeping patients comfortable and informed about their treatment.
Requirements
- One year of recent RN experience, including six months in PCU, DOU, or Stepdown.
- California Registered Nurse License.
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
- Ability to demonstrate positive behaviors.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- One year of recent RN experience in trauma and orthopedic care.
