About The Position

Join the Trauma Med/Surg team at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and provide exceptional care to trauma and post-surgical patients at one of California's premier Level I Trauma Centers. Our 22-bed Trauma Med/Surg Unit is a fast-paced, high-acuity Model Care Unit where collaboration, clinical excellence, and compassionate care are at the center of everything we do. The unit maintains a 4:1 or 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in accordance with California Title 22 guidelines, allowing nurses to provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

Requirements

One (1) year of recent RN experience (6 months in Inpatient Setting such as Acute Care, LTAC, Acute Rehab or SNF)
California Registered Nurse License
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
One (1) year of recent RN experience in Acute Care or LTAC
Experience with stepdown Trauma patient care

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to support optimal patient outcomes.
Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans based on clinical needs.
Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless, evidence-based treatment.
Serve as the primary nurse for your patients, promoting healing while respecting each patient's dignity, autonomy, and individual goals.
