Registered Nurse (RN) - Trauma Med Surg
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Trauma Med Surg uses critical thinking and the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to coordinate and provide safe, quality patient care. The nurse also assists in organizing patient care activities as assigned. This is a full-time night-shift position. Qualified candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000, paid over 24 months. St. Mary's Medical Center is a 420-bed acute care hospital in West Palm Beach and part of the Palm Beach Health Network. It is a Level 1 Trauma Center and a state-designated Pediatric Trauma Referral Center, among other specialty services.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Registered Nurse program.
- Registered Nurse license.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification within 90 days.
- NIH certification within 60 days.
- EKG certification.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ physical condition, skin, pain, fall risk, medications, and discharge needs, and provide appropriate interventions.
- Develop and implement the plan of care on admission using assessment data.
- Provide education to patients and families.
- Evaluate patients’ responses to interventions.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
- Assist in organizing patient care activities.
