About The Position

Works under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing, as applicable. Assesses, plans, implements, and executes delivery of resident care and directs activities to provide quality service and assure positive resident outcomes. Maintains close contact with residents, families, and staff while coordinating nursing services with other disciplines.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of Long Term Care (LTC) experience.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license through the Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP), required upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute, required within 30 days.
• Weekend shifts and irregular shifts.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of LPN experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) or Assisted Living (AL) setting.
• 1 year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assigns duties to professional and non-professional staff according to education, training, policy, and resident need.
• Engages team members to optimize performance and addresses performance as needed to assure quality resident care.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates resident plans of care.
• Communicates the plan of care to providers, residents, families, and staff.
• Identifies changes in condition and documents them properly following the Interact process.
• Follows through consistently to support positive resident outcomes.
• Uses good judgment and specialized skills and demonstrates the ability to manage a typical nursing unit.
• Allows resident choices within limits of capability while considering safety and dignity, and follows facility policies and procedures, including those concerning resident privacy and dignity.
