About The Position

ConvenientMD is hiring a dedicated Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, patient-focused urgent care setting. The role includes triage, assisting with examinations and procedures, administering medications and immunizations, communicating with patients about follow-up care, and collaborating with the clinical team. The nurse must be available for 12-hour shifts. Full-time employees work three shifts per week, including at least four weekend shifts per month; part-time employees work two shifts per week, including at least two weekend shifts per month; and per-diem employees work four shifts per month, ideally one each week. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required. The role may require travel to other ConvenientMD clinics within an hour of the primary clinic and travel for training shifts within an hour’s commute.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• State-licensed registered nurse (RN).
• Prior experience placing and monitoring IVs.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; CPR, ACLS, and online-only classes are not accepted.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, with the required weekly or monthly schedule and weekend shifts for the applicable employment type.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability, if needed, to work at a minimum of three other ConvenientMD locations within one hour’s travel distance of the primary clinic.
• Ability to travel for training shifts within one hour’s commute of the primary clinic.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle patient information in compliance with HIPAA.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and experience with or ability to learn Experity and other business systems.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach; proactive written and verbal communication; trustworthiness; ability to build positive relationships; and strong collaboration and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient triage by taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and performing observational examinations to identify immediate healthcare needs.
• Assist with patient examinations by preparing equipment and documentation and supporting providers during tests and procedures.
• Perform blood draws and phlebotomy in accordance with safety protocols.
• Provide airway support, including nebulizer treatments, oral suctioning, placement of oropharyngeal or nasopharyngeal airways, oxygen therapy, and ventilation using an AMBU bag.
• Apply 12-lead ECGs and provide CPR or AED defibrillation in emergency situations.
• Administer immunizations and medications according to protocols and the registered nurse scope of practice.
• Process and call in prescriptions to patients’ requested pharmacies in accordance with provider instructions.
• Make patient follow-up calls, respond to care-plan inquiries, explain test results, and discuss medication or therapy changes.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients throughout their care.
• Coordinate patient care with clinical team members and communicate patient information and updates to providers and other healthcare professionals.
• Welcome and support the training of new clinic team members.
