About The Position

Hospice of Wichita Falls is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its In Patient Center Team. The organization provides hospice care, hope, and support to patients and families when illness threatens life. The nurse will serve patients in Wichita, Archer, Clay, Jack, Montague, and Young counties, helping patients and families feel welcomed and at home in the Center. Working as part of a team, the nurse will assess patients and families upon admission, incorporate assessment data into the Comprehensive Plan of Care, and update the plan as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to be self-directed and function independently, with demonstrated leadership ability.
• Ability to understand the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual concerns and problems of terminally ill patients in the home setting.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of disease processes and ability to educate others about them and expected changes.
• Ability to relate well with patients, families, the community, and healthcare professionals.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to be at work as scheduled and remain alert and awake.
• Ability to advance computer knowledge.
• Demonstrated competency as defined.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and families upon admission.
• Incorporate assessment data into the Comprehensive Plan of Care and update it as needed.
• Help ensure patients and families feel welcomed and at home in the In Patient Center.
• Oversee, educate, and positively direct other members of the team.
