About The Position

Hospice of Wichita Falls is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its In Patient Center Team. The organization provides hospice care, hope, and support to patients and families when illness threatens life. The nurse serves patients in Wichita, Archer, Clay, Jack, Montague, and Young counties and helps ensure patients and families feel welcomed and at home in the center. Working with the team, the nurse performs admission assessments of patients and families, incorporates assessment data into the Comprehensive Plan of Care, and updates the plan as needed.

• Ability to understand the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual concerns and problems of terminally ill patients.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate well with patients, families, the community, and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to be at work as scheduled and remain alert and awake.
• Ability to advance computer knowledge.
• Demonstrated competency as defined.

Responsibilities

• Help ensure patients and families feel welcomed and at home in the In Patient Center.
• Work with other team members to assess patients and families upon admission.
• Incorporate assessment data into the Comprehensive Plan of Care and update it as needed.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes and expected changes.
• Oversee, educate, and positively direct other members of the team.
