About The Position

Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for its inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital. The nurse provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The role develops nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff; communicates changes in patients’ clinical conditions to physicians, nursing supervisors or managers, and coworkers; and participates in discharge planning. The nurse contributes to individualized rehabilitation care for patients recovering from severe injury or illness, including stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• CPR/BCLS certification.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS certification preferred.
• CRRN preferred.
• At least six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver direct and indirect patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff as needed.
• Communicate changes in patients’ clinical conditions to physicians, the Nursing Supervisor or Manager, and coworkers as appropriate.
• Participate in the discharge planning process.
• Use specialized plan-of-care interventions and contribute to patient wellbeing and recovery.
