Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Carenest Health Services•Augusta, GA

About The Position

The Registered Nurse will provide care to adult and geriatric patients on a renal medical-surgical unit. The role includes performing vital sign and blood glucose checks. The nurse may float within the facility and their scope of practice as needed. The expected staffing ratio is 1:5–6, and the unit has 49 rooms with an average daily census of 48. Epic is required; the unit also uses Pyxis and SBAR. Nurses wear navy blue scrubs. The schedule includes every other weekend unless otherwise specified. Holiday work is required according to the assignment period: one major holiday if one falls during the assignment; both if two fall during it; or two if three fall during it. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day. There are no call requirements. Floating may be required within the facility and scope of practice. Full compliance is required to start on time. If compliance is not completed in time, the start may be pushed back by two weeks because orientation occurs biweekly. After the candidate signs and confirmation is sent, the manager has 48 hours to review the profile and confirmation for unit, schedule, and expertise fit. An Aya offer is available only when the clinical pass is within RTO guidelines and the candidate meets facility requirements. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate. Non-billable orientation hours depend on the contract length (for example, 8 hours for an 8-week assignment or 19 hours for a 19-week assignment).
