Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
About The Position
Paradise Valley Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in the Telemetry Unit. The nurse uses the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver safe patient care within the scope of practice. The role includes directing and guiding patient and family education and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the care of assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms. The nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment. Paradise Valley Hospital is a 291-bed acute care hospital serving the San Diego community. Its services include a spine and joint center, acute rehabilitation, cardiac catheterization, inpatient and outpatient surgery, emergency services, and behavioral health care.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
Nice To Haves
- Previous acute care hospital experience.
- Ventilator management experience.
- Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice in the Telemetry Unit.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.
- Remain directly responsible and accountable for care provided to assigned patients.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
