About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Telemetry provides expert, compassionate care to a diverse patient population with a variety of medical conditions while managing multiple tasks efficiently. The role is based in Wilson Medical Center’s 22-bed Med Surge unit, which spans two floors and has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5/6. The unit is staffed by registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, and patient sitters, and cares for patients including those receiving dialysis, people with diabetes or heart disease, geriatric patients, and patients recovering from surgery.

The schedule is three 12-hour night shifts, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. New graduate RNs are welcome; one year of RN experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current state RN license.
• Nursing degree from an accredited program.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Ability to provide expert and compassionate care to a diverse patient population with various medical conditions while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Nice To Haves

• One year of RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to the patient’s condition and age.
• Complete timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Perform timely and accurate quality improvement assessments.
