Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Float

Carenest Health Services•Augusta, GA

About The Position

This is an EPIC-required float-pool registered nurse position serving adult and geriatric patients across Medical-Surgical and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units within the hospital. The nurse is required to float among these units and may also be assigned to the sister campus, Piedmont Augusta Summerville, approximately three miles away. Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5–6. Nurses perform their own vital-sign and blood-glucose checks. The role uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR, and the required scrub color is navy blue. The assignment requires every-other-weekend work, averaging six weekends during a 13-week contract. Holiday coverage depends on how many major holidays fall within the assignment: work one if one falls in the assignment, both if two fall in the assignment, or two if three fall in the assignment. There are no call requirements. Requests for time off are limited to a maximum of seven days. Full compliance is required to start on time; otherwise, the start may be delayed by two weeks because orientation is held biweekly. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate. Non-billable orientation hours vary according to contract length.
