About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative environment with strong interdisciplinary teams and a patient-centered care model. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the nurse uses evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies and procedures, and direction from the medical staff. Using the nursing process, the nurse develops a plan of care that follows standards of practice and addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and their families.

Requirements

Current Connecticut RN licensure.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Working knowledge of the nursing process and customer service principles.
BLS certification or completion of BLS within the first three months of employment.

Nice To Haves

National certification in the specialty.
Acute care hospital experience.
IV skills.
Secondary language skills.
ACLS certification is strongly recommended for staff cross-trained to designated areas.
