About The Position

The competent Nurse practices independently in the same or a similar clinical setting and demonstrates awareness of relevant aspects of each situation. Provides routine and complex care and can work toward long-range goals or plans. Continues developing the ability to cope with and manage clinical contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. The role provides nursing care consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, using the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• RN license in the state of employment or compact license.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments according to the appropriate protocol and monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation.
