About The Position

The OR Nurse functions as a Circulator/Scrub Nurse in the Operating Room and organizes and administers individualized, professional patient care. Care is provided in accordance with hospital objectives, policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as AORN, ASPAN, and SGNA standards. The nurse participates in patient teaching, considers patients’ age and cultural needs when planning and providing care, and participates in quality improvement activities. The role is with The Hospital of Central Connecticut, part of Hartford HealthCare.

Requirements

Valid Connecticut RN license.
BLS certification required.
ACLS certification required within six months if not already held.
One year of acute care experience.
Ability to communicate effectively and work closely with physicians and staff.
Strong organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.
Two years of surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Function as a Circulator/Scrub Nurse in the Operating Room.

Participate in patient teaching and incorporate patients’ age-specific and cultural needs into care planning and delivery.

Communicate effectively and work closely with physicians and staff.
