Registered Nurse, Medical Telemetry Unit FT Nights
About The Position
Baystate Health is seeking an inpatient Registered Nurse for its 24-bed S1400 acute care unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. The unit provides care for adult and geriatric medical patients who may or may not require telemetry monitoring. Patients may be admitted as inpatients or placed in observation or outpatient extended-stay status. The role provides an opportunity to care for a broad range of medical conditions and to develop nursing practice, organizational, prioritization, assessment, and communication skills. The position is full-time nights, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., working every other weekend and every other holiday.
Requirements
- Successfully pass the Board of Registration in Nursing Examination.
- Hold a current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Hold current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Diploma in Nursing listed as required.

Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient nursing care to medical patients, including patients who may require telemetry monitoring.
- Care for patients with a variety of conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, psychiatric concerns, sepsis and other advanced infections, falls or syncope, palliative or hospice needs, stroke, COVID-19, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, and acute coronary syndrome.
- Monitor and care for patients in inpatient, observation, and outpatient extended-stay status.
