About The Position

Frye Regional Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its 20-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation unit. The nurse works with therapists, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members to help patients regain independence and return home safely. The unit offers self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, and an every-other-weekend rotation.

The role includes carrying out patient care plans, documenting care, monitoring and communicating patient conditions, assisting with activities of daily living, coordinating care across disciplines, educating patients and families, and advocating for patients’ physical and emotional well-being. The position is full-time and scheduled for three 12-hour night shifts. A commitment-incentive bonus of $10,000 to $20,000 is offered.

Requirements

• Current active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact license; relocating nurses must update licensure to the new Primary State of Residence before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate patient and/or family learning needs and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.
