About The Position

Registered Nurse position in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), caring for adult patients ages 18 and older. The 64-bed unit includes 15 designated neuro beds and cares for patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions, including COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, cardiovascular stepdown, and postoperative cases. The role uses EPIC and requires floating. Chronic ventilator patients who cannot be weaned may be cared for with respiratory therapy assistance. The shift is 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; block scheduling is not guaranteed. Navy blue scrubs are required. The position is offered for 36 or 48 hours.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience, documented on an up-to-date resume.
• Travel experience documented on the resume.
• Skills checklist matching the specialty.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Active New York RN license and verification of all RN licenses through Nursys.
• EPIC EMR experience.
• Driver’s license with an address matching the submitted demographics.
• Include requested time off (RTO) at the time of submission.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult IMCU patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions.
• Float as required.
• Care for patients requiring specialty equipment and support, including temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and ventilators; respiratory therapy assists with chronic ventilator patients who cannot be weaned.
