About The Position

The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at this facility cares for adult patients with a variety of complex conditions including neurological, cardiac, respiratory (including chronic ventilators), trauma, and postoperative care. The unit utilizes specialized equipment such as temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and ventilators. Respiratory therapy assists with ventilator management. Nurses on this unit must be flexible to float to other units as needed and be available to work night shifts.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU nursing experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Active New York State RN license.
• Nursys license verification report covering the active New York RN license and all other active RN licenses.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Updated resume documenting at least 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience and previous travel nursing experience.
• Completed skills checklist matching the specialty.
• Driver’s license showing an address consistent with the candidate demographics on file.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Nursys license verification report for all active RN licenses.
• Requested time off (RTO) must be included at the time of submission.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult intermediate-care patients with neurological, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, and postoperative conditions.
• Care for patients on chronic ventilators who are unable to be weaned.
• Float to other units as needed.
• Adapt to unit staffing needs.
• Work night shifts.
