About The Position

The Registered Nurse will work on the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), also known as Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This unit cares for adult patients (18 years and older) with common diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory conditions such as COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-operative care. The unit is equipped with specialty equipment such as temp pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo vents. The unit has 64 beds, with 15 designated for neuro patients. The shift is from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Floating to other units may be required. The required scrub color is Navy Blue.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU.
• Experience documenting travel experience.
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current AHA ACLS certification.
• Current NIHSS certification.
• Active NY RN License and verification of all RN licenses.
• Valid Driver's license with address matching demographics.
• Up-to-date resume.
• Skills Checklist matching specialty.
• Required to include RTO (Request Time Off) at time of submission.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult patients in the IMCU/PCU.
• Manage patients with a variety of diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, and Respiratory conditions.
• Operate and monitor specialty equipment such as temp pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo vents.
• Float to other units as needed.
• Document patient care using the EPIC EMR system.
