Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intermediate Care/Step Down
About The Position
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for its 3 East Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is a full-time position with multiple shifts available. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000; new graduates are eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus. The 3 East Intermediate Care Unit offers a supportive, team-based environment, with a unit-based nurse educator, team coordinator, and manager. The unit has an active Partnership Council and is participating in the hospital’s Magnet redesignation journey. The patient population may include people with sepsis, hemorrhage, stroke, cardiac conditions, trauma, postoperative needs, substance withdrawal, and diabetic ketoacidosis. New graduate RNs are automatically enrolled in Sentara’s six-month Nurse Residency Program, which provides practical skills, hands-on training, professional development, and mentoring. New graduates on the unit also receive a 10- to 12-week clinical preceptorship and enroll in the Transition to Practice Program.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing.
- Registered nursing license required; students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License may apply.
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- No experience required.
