About The Position

The Midtown Cardiac Neuro Unit at Deaconess Midtown is a 19-bed specialty unit that combines cardiac, neurological, and stepdown care. Nurses care for a diverse patient population, including stroke, cardiac, sepsis, complex medical-surgical, and ICU stepdown patients. The unit includes 8 dedicated stepdown beds and offers exposure to advanced cardiac rhythms, bedside cardioversions, titratable medication drips, NIH Stroke Scale assessments, and higher-acuity care. Nurses are supported by a structured orientation program, an engaged leadership team, and a culture of teamwork and shared governance. The role offers an opportunity to help shape a growing specialty service line.

Requirements

• Active Indiana RN license or valid compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients with stroke, cardiac, sepsis, complex medical-surgical, and ICU stepdown needs.
• Provide higher-acuity care in a specialty unit with dedicated stepdown beds.
