Registered Nurse-NOC
About The Position
The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care in a correctional setting at Shasta County Jail in Redding, California. Care includes patient assessments, medication administration, treatments, and emergency response. The RN will collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans, educate patients about health conditions, monitor their progress, and help maintain a safe and effective healthcare environment. The role requires compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and infection control standards. This is a full-time overnight position with 12-hour shifts. Salary is $54–$64, with placement on the scale based on job-related experience.
Requirements
- Current, valid state licensure, certificate, and/or credentials documenting the ability to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Active CPR/BLS certificate meeting American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, adhere to protocols, and deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced, structured environment.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare, nursing, or a related field; preferred but not required.
- 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably correctional healthcare or a similar environment.
- Experience in direct patient care or administrative support in a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to correctional settings.
