About The Position

The Detroit Medical Center Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for the satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides care activities for a group of patients and their families, using independent judgment and communicating and collaborating with team members, including ancillary and support services. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision.

The position is at DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital, which has Michigan’s first Level I Trauma Center and the state’s first and largest verified burn center. The hospital also offers a 24/7 hyperbaric oxygen program, a certified primary stroke center, and the DMC Rosa Parks Geriatric Center of Excellence.

A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available based on relevant experience. Benefit eligibility may vary by location and employment status.

Requirements

• Graduation from a school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.
• Provide and delegate patient care activities to team members.
• Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
• Report directly to senior unit management and participate in shared decision-making activities.
