About The Position

The Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) delivers nursing care to patients in an ICU stepdown setting. The role assesses patient status, prioritizes problems and needs, develops and carries out patient care plans to improve outcomes, and helps ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. The nurse acts as a care coordination contact across hospital departments and collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• One year of RN experience is required; new graduates are welcome to apply.
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is preferred at hire and must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care.
• ACLS is required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required).
• Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred).
• BLS or ACLS certification at hire (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments; analyze assessment data, create and implement plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Coordinate patients’ care across hospital departments and serve as a point of contact.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Advocate for patient safety by participating in ongoing departmental quality improvement.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
