About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides effective direct care as part of an interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. The nurse manages care and implements treatment plans at a refined skill level in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other members of the health care team. The role requires continued development of knowledge and skills, seeking and providing feedback to improve clinical practice, and taking a beginning leadership role while seeking mentorship.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
At least 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS certification.
American Heart Association Health Care Provider ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods and frequently travel, bend, and stoop.
Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; and ability to write legibly.
Ability to lift, push, or pull 20–50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to complex patients as part of the interdisciplinary team.
Manage patient care and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other members of the health care team.
Seek and provide feedback to improve clinical practice.
Participate in shared governance.
Pursue professional development and support onboarding of new team members; precept as applicable.
Follow clinical documentation guidelines, understand outcomes data, participate in performance improvement, and adhere to standard work.
Apply technologies that support patient care and seek to implement evidence-based practice and knowledge generated by nursing research.
Perform other duties as assigned.
