Registered Nurse (RN) - HeartLife, Cardiac\Pulmonary Rehab, PRN, Day
About The Position
Responsible for implementing exercise regimens and education for cardiac patients. Organizes and teaches educational classes to support risk factor modification, supervises exercise therapy, and ensures sound cardiovascular exercise-training principles are followed. Assists other HeartLife team members in managing patient care and services. This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The role is PRN, with a requirement of 24 hours over a six-week period or schedule, and works the day shift at Greer Memorial Hospital on the Greer Medical Campus.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing.
- At least one year of work experience.
- Current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State, or an RN license to practice in the state where the team member works.
- BLS Certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Three years of work experience.
- ACLS Certification.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate each patient's individualized clinical plan of care.
- Monitor patients for disproportionate responses to their clinical course, including medications, exercise training, and nutrition.
- Perform exercises with patients and demonstrate correct exercise principles.
- Provide care to patients who develop cardiac problems during activity.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care with HeartLife team members.
- Manage clinical equipment used in patient care.
- Contact patients by telephone when they are absent or after discharge to provide education.
- Coordinate clinical outcomes for all patients.
- Organize and teach educational classes to enhance risk factor modification.
- Supervise exercise therapy and ensure sound cardiovascular exercise-training principles are followed.
- Assist other HeartLife team members in managing patient care and services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
