About The Position

The Emergency Room Nurse provides care to patients requiring immediate medical assistance in Elliot Health System’s 42-bed, full-service, Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department, which treats nearly 58,000 patients annually. The department includes emergency medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, trauma and critical care surgeons, a Pediatric Emergency Department, an Acute Psychiatric Unit, and an Intermediate Care Area. Nurses collaborate with providers and a multidisciplinary team to deliver care and adapt to innovations in emergency medicine. The role requires excellent communication and multitasking skills when treating patients with potentially life-threatening injuries or illnesses.

The schedule is 3 p.m. to 3 a.m., every other weekend. The position is full-time.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse license or Compact State License in New Hampshire.
• BLS certification during orientation and employment.
• Obtain ACLS within six months of hire.
• Obtain PALS within one year of hire.
• Crisis management certification.
• Obtain CPI Advanced within six months of hire.
• TNCC required within one year of hire.
• Pursue professional certification upon eligibility or within three years of entering specialty practice.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Minimum of one year of recent clinical experience.
• ENPC certification is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and provide critical care.
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and respond to medical emergencies.
• Work as part of a team of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Create patient care plans and maintain accurate medical records.
