About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Weekend Option at CarDon and Associates provides high-quality nursing care during weekend shifts. The role includes direct resident care, monitoring resident conditions, administering medications, performing wound care, and supporting resident comfort and well-being. The nurse also educates residents and their families about health management, advocates for residents’ rights, and collaborates with the healthcare team to promote positive health outcomes in a safe, supportive environment.

Requirements

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in direct resident care, including medication administration and wound care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team during weekend shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Previous work experience in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.
• Strong communication and resident advocacy skills.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including medication administration, wound care, and telemetry monitoring during weekend shifts.
• Assess and document resident conditions and promptly report changes to the healthcare team.
• Educate residents and their families on health maintenance, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and preferences and ensure their rights and dignity are respected.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
