RN - Registered Nurse - PT - Day Shift

About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) uses the nursing process—including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes and planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide individualized nursing care to residents. The RN collaborates with residents and families, providers, and other interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care. The position is part time on the day shift, working 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with every other weekend and rotating holidays. The role is at Good Samaritan Society–Albert Lea, an 80-bed long-term skilled care and transitional care facility in southern Minnesota.

Requirements

Hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs, or possess multistate licensure if practicing in a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program, such as one accredited by CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized resident care using the nursing process.
Demonstrate nursing competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and applicable age- and population-specific standards.
Care for residents through preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
Coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, provide resident education, and perform other nursing interventions.
May serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel.
Support delegates and help ensure safe, reliable resident care and resolution of care and service concerns.
Collaborate with residents, families, providers, and interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
Practice in accordance with the applicable Nurse Practice Act, Administrative Rules, and professional nursing standards.
