About The Position
Work as a Registered Nurse on the Orthopedics – Miller 6 unit at UVMMC’s Medical Center Main Campus in Burlington, Vermont. This is a part-time position with 24 standard hours per week on the night shift, with every-other-weekend needs. The unit is a fast-paced, 32-bed postoperative unit caring for a mixed population of orthopedic patients, primarily including patients recovering from trauma, total hip and knee replacements, hip fractures, and spine procedures. The collaborative care team includes RNs, LNAs, Unit Secretaries, nursing students, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Case Managers, Quality partners, Medical Students, Residents, and Attendings. The unit has state-of-the-art rooms with views of the UVM campus and Lake Champlain; each room is equipped with a ceiling lift and space for families and physical therapy. Nurses are encouraged to pursue orthopedic-specific certifications and may advance through the Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP). On-call work is not required. This is a bargaining union position.
