Registered Nurse - Orthopedics - Miller 6
About The Position
Provide nursing care in the fast-paced, 32-bed Miller 6 post-operative orthopedic unit at the UVMMC Medical Center Main Campus in Burlington, Vermont. The unit cares for a mixed population of orthopedic patients, primarily following surgery, including patients with trauma, total hip and knee replacements, hip fractures, and spine conditions. Nurses work collaboratively with LNAs, Unit Secretaries, nursing students, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Case Managers, Quality partners, medical students, residents, and attending physicians to provide high-quality patient care. The unit has state-of-the-art rooms with views of the UVM campus and Lake Champlain. Each room has a ceiling lift and space for families and physical therapy. Nurses are encouraged to pursue orthopedic-specific certifications and may advance through the Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP). On-call work is not required. This is a bargaining union position.
