About The Position

The Registered Nurse delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department requirements and applicable state and specialty standards of practice. Working collaboratively with medical providers and the care team, the nurse provides personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The nurse advocates for patients, families, and caregivers while supporting positive clinical outcomes and an outstanding patient experience.

The role is associated with the Medical Surgical department and night shift in the title. The description also refers to the position as Registered Nurse Pre-Op Renal Vascular.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse qualification.
• Registered Nurse Diploma.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients on admission and during scheduled shifts, promptly identifying and reporting changes in their condition.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers, and document care administration thoroughly and promptly in the medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and take appropriate action in response to unintended medication effects.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate patient needs, and address them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures; explain complex medical terminology to support understanding.
• Collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide comprehensive care.
• Advocate for patients, families, and caregivers and support positive clinical outcomes and a positive patient experience.
