About The Position

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, is hiring a temporary traveler Registered Nurse for its Hospital Resource Pool on the night shift. The role is a 14-week assignment paying $75 per hour. The RN provides competent nursing care using the nursing process and applies professional practice standards, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN is expected to maintain the clinical knowledge and skills required for the assigned clinical area and meet any specialty-specific requirements.

Requirements

• RN degree: ADN, BSN, or MSN.
• Valid RN license to practice in Virginia.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current NIHSS certification.
• At least 2 years of recent bedside RN experience in both MED/SURG and IMCU.
• Experience with the EPIC documentation system.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
• Perform nursing practice in accordance with standards for assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
• Apply professional performance standards, including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Maintain clinical knowledge and skills required for the assigned clinical area.
• Meet and maintain requirements defined by the specific specialty.
