About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the Sarasota Memorial Health Care System nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. This experienced-nurse position is in the Emergency Care Center at the Sarasota Campus. It is not intended for new graduates. The position is full-time, with mid or night shifts available, and a schedule of 36 hours per week. The hourly rate is based on years of RN experience, education, and internal equity, with a stated range of $33.50 to $51.60. Employees holding an approved certification may qualify for an additional $1.50 per hour.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program.
For new hires after 2012, a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN) is required within the timeframe specified in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
Hold an active Florida Registered Nurse license.
Maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support/CPR (BLS) certifications.
Complete Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke PSA/ACE during orientation, or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Crisis Intervention upon completion of department orientation; certifications must be maintained thereafter.
Complete Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) within one year of completing department orientation; certifications must be maintained thereafter.
Experienced nurses only; new graduates are not eligible.

Nice To Haves

Prefer a minimum of one year of emergency RN experience.
Prefer certification in a nursing specialty area.
