About The Position

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its 22-bed Medical Psychiatric Unit in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This role provides both medical-surgical and psychiatric care to patients with neuropsychiatric diagnoses and combined medical and behavioral health needs. The position is 0.75 FTE, scheduled for 60 hours every two weeks, with rotating 12-hour day and night shifts. Nurses work every third weekend and two holidays per year.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Current RN licensure in Wisconsin upon hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients with neuropsychiatric diagnoses, including dementia, autism spectrum disorder, Huntington's disease, and geropsychiatric conditions.
• Care for patients with medical and behavioral health needs, including substance use disorders, withdrawal management, and co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions.
• Develop specialized skills in providing coordinated, patient-centered care for patients with medical and behavioral health needs.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes hospitalists, psychiatrists, RNs, CNAs, social workers, recreational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
