About The Position

Amedisys is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide hospice care in McDowell, Mercer, and Wyoming counties. This Weekend Baylor position follows a Friday-through-Sunday schedule from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The nurse performs admission assessments, coordinates individualized plans of care, monitors and records patient progress and symptom management, communicates with the clinical manager, physician, and care team, and supports patients and families through education and referrals. On-call responsibilities may be assigned. The listed pay range is $85,000 to $87,000.

Requirements

• Current RN license specific to the state or states where assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

• One year of nursing experience preferred. Applicants with less than one year of nursing experience may be considered for the RN new graduate program.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial nursing assessments for new admissions.
• Complete, coordinate, and revise the total plan of care, collaborating with appropriate staff to maintain continuity of patient care.
• Regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team.
• Develop, prepare, and maintain accurate and timely individualized patient care progress records in accordance with care center policies.
• Record changes and outcomes related to pain and symptom management as appropriate.
• Educate families about the patient's condition, needs, and care.
• Refer patients to other hospice care disciplines as needed, or document the rationale for not doing so.
• Perform on-call responsibilities and provide on-call services to patients and families as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
