About The Position

Under minimal supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric, within the nurse’s competencies and following established standards and practices. Supports the mission statement, policies, and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established position competencies within the designated introductory period and performs other related duties as assigned. The position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Texas State Registered Nurse license, or current eligibility for state board certification.
• Active healthcare-provider BLS from ARC or AHA upon hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role for all Surgical Services areas.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Completion of a peri-anesthesia or critical care internship/training course.
• For Surgery: CNOR board eligibility or certification.
• For Post Anesthesia: CPAN board eligibility or certification.
• For GI Lab: SGNA board eligibility or certification.
• AHA PALS within 60 days of hire or transfer for licensed staff caring for pediatric patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit at North Central Baptist, St. Luke's Baptist, Westover Hills Baptist, and Resolute Baptist Hospital.
