Registered Nurse - Telemetry
About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in the Telemetry Unit at Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. The nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and provides direct care within the scope of practice. The role includes directing and supporting patient and family education and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The nurse is accountable for care provided to assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms. The nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient's condition or response to treatment. The schedule is days, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., working three 12-hour shifts. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply and are discussed during the interview process. The position is full-time.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
Nice To Haves
- Previous acute care hospital experience.
- Ventilator management experience.
- Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
- Maintain standards of care in the Telemetry Unit.
- Remain directly responsible and accountable for care given to assigned patients.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
