RN - Postpartum Per Diem - Night Shift
About The Position
The RN - Postpartum provides nursing care to postpartum patients and their families at Endeavor Health's Arlington Heights, Illinois location. This per diem position works night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with a commitment of 32–72 hours per six-week schedule. No travel is required. The role involves assessing patients and collecting health data with input from patients, families, and other healthcare providers. The nurse coordinates individualized plans of care, communicates effectively with customers, provides patient and family education based on assessed learning needs, participates in quality improvement, and maintains knowledge of current nursing standards, laws, and regulations.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an associate degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Two years of recent postpartum nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and collect health data involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
- Coordinate patient plans of care to ensure interventions are consistent, safe, timely, and appropriate.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all customers in person, by phone, and in writing.
- Individualize patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment of specific learning needs.
- Participate in evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice through quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain professional knowledge of current nursing practice standards, laws, and regulations.
