About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Observation Unit at Resurrection Medical Center delivers safe, direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN is accountable for the care provided to assigned patients and practices within the scope of nursing practice. The role includes guiding patient and family education and directing the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.

The RN communicates with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms, and responds promptly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. The position is full time, on day shifts with 12-hour shifts and alternating weekends, in Chicago, Illinois.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain it.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous acute care hospital experience.
• Ventilator management experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities
