About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the 28-bed Clinical Observation Unit at Advocate Condell Medical Center, a Magnet-designated facility in Libertyville, Illinois. The unit provides outpatient services to observation patients who need monitoring or treatment beyond emergency department regimens. Patients have a range of medical and surgical diagnoses and are expected to stay less than 24 hours. The RN joins a collaborative team of nurses with varied experience and nursing assistants with diverse skills and perspectives. The RN provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The role uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassionate communication, and nursing skills to help create the safest patient environment and best patient experience across the continuum of care. This is a part-time, 0.6 FTE night-shift position working 24 hours per week in 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The schedule includes every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) and assigned holidays. The listed pay range is $38.20–$57.30.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
