About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cath Lab Department at Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a full-time, daytime position working four 10-hour shifts, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The nurse must be flexible to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and participate in the required call rotation.

The Cath Lab RN coordinates with physician offices and hospital teams, assists with cardiac and peripheral invasive procedures, and is responsible for moderate sedation. The role may also involve assisting with TEEs and cardioversions. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care; supervises care provided by supportive personnel; coordinates ancillary services; involves patients and their families in individualized care planning; and prepares assigned rooms and cases while anticipating patient and procedural needs.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse through the Florida Department of Health required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the AHA required.
• Must be flexible to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and participate in the required call rotation.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of critical care experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with physician offices, other RNs, laboratory, dietary, x-ray, pharmacy, and other hospital areas.
• Assist with cardiac and peripheral invasive procedures.
• Provide moderate sedation.
• May assist with TEEs and cardioversions.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care; supervise care provided by supportive personnel; and coordinate care provided by ancillary services.
• Include patients and their significant others or families in developing an individualized plan of care.
• Coordinate and prepare the assigned room and case, assess patient care needs, and anticipate case needs.
