About The Position
Peterson Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse to work in the hospital’s Main Operating Room in Kerrville, Texas. The role requires call. The nurse acts as a patient advocate throughout the perioperative period, coordinating care between providers and hospital staff, supporting patients’ physical and emotional needs, and assisting the surgeon. The nurse also documents care accurately and completely, including interventions, equipment, and supplies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Basic computer keyboard skills.
- Texas license as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Meditech proficiency.
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR).
- One or more years of circulating experience in a hospital Operating Room.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for patients during the perioperative period by implementing a plan to protect them from injury, wrong-site surgery, infection, and retained instruments.
- Coordinate patient care between providers and hospital staff.
- Support patients’ physical and emotional needs while assisting the surgeon.
- Accurately and completely document care, including interventions, equipment, and supplies.
