About The Position

The Staff Nurse Inpatient is a clinically competent registered professional nurse who provides care to acutely ill patients through assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care; interacts effectively with patients, significant others, and other health team members; and maintains ANA standards of professional nursing practice. The role is on CDH Neuro Intermediate (3B), a 24-bed neurosciences unit caring for patients requiring medical and surgical treatment of acute neurological and spine disorders. Conditions include traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, stroke, spinal injury, seizures, and acute CNS inflammation or infections. Neurosurgical care includes aneurysm repair, CSF leaks and lumbar drains, and postoperative neurosurgical and spinal patients. The position is full time, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with rotating weekends. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered, subject to eligibility restrictions.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate with others.
Strong analytic abilities.
An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is acceptable with a commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of the first day of employment in a clinical nurse role.
